Very informative, very well written article. I have become an instant fan of this author. I wish I had discovered this article much earlier, like before I upgraded to Catalina and have had WAY too many problems. Losing confidence quickly in Apple. M biggest problem at this point seems to be Safari - can't surf for squat without the numerous delays, getting the annoying/spinning/loser wheel.

... and I have advocated strongly for Apple's dependability in my professional circle for several years ... crow is not very tasty

Adobe Photoshop 21.0 & Photoshop 20.0.7 work with macOS 10.15 (Catalina) but have these known compatibility issues. You may want to remain on your current version of macOS until these issues have been resolved. https://frgt.co/33R7E5C

    Apple macOS Release Cycle Explained:

    • X.x.1 - The initial release gets the promised new things out there.
    • X.x.2 - Fixes what Apple employees found wrong.
    • X.x.3 - Fixes what external developers found wrong.
    • X.x.4 - Fixes the urgent thing actual customers reported.
    • X.x.5 - Is typically a stable release ready for mass adoption in the workplace.

Excellent article. Read it all, understood it all, and assuming now it saved me lots of trouble. I use all sorts of computers, 50/50 mac and windows. Dear Michelle Charles, you saved me from lots of trouble, trouble I'd not need right now. Thank you. Kind regards. Karel

    Great article.

How about now (March 27th), should I upgrade or hold? Running Mojave on 2017 MacBook Pro.

    Thanks!

I know that with the Covid situation, all bets are off.

But if you're able, can you update this advisory as of April 2020?  I don't have a problem with not being able to use 32bit apps, but I'm still hesitant to upgrade from Mojave to Catalina, and I would appreciate your advice!
